The University for Parents

This unique holistic program is now in the early development phase.  Recognizing that parents who have been out of work or otherwise struggling to stabilize themselves and their families; and recognizing the pivotal mentoring role parents play in their children’s and community’s lives, this new initiative of CARES, a collaborative with Morehouse University, the Department of Labor and the Atlanta Housing Authority, aims to provide tailored programming for highly under-resourced parents.  That programming will not only have a workforce readiness and financial literacy component which is being adapted from Skills to Pay the Bills: Mastering Soft Skills for Workforce Success, developed by the U.S. Department of Labor, but a stress and wellness management component, as well as comprehensive wrap-around services.
